Library Board Meetings

The Livingston County Board of Trustees meet the 3rd Thursday of each month at 4:30pm at the Livingston County Library in the Smithson Room or the Court Room, 2nd Level, Main Library Building. The meetings are open to the public.

A public hearing will be held at the Livingston County Library every August at which citizens may be heard on the proposed property rates to be set by Livingston County Library. The tax rates shall be set to produce the revenues which the budget for the current year shows to be required from the property tax . Each tax rate is determined by dividing the amount of revenue required by the current assessed valuation. The result is multiplied by 100 so the tax rate will be expressed in cents per $100 valuation, in compliance with 67.110 RSMo. The annual tax rate hearing is held in conjunction with the August monthly regularly scheduled session of the Livingston County Library board.

Any disabled or handicapped persons requiring that special accommodations be made to attend and/or participate in the meeting should contact the Library Director’s office at 660-646-0547 so that arrangements can be considered and made. All meetings are accessible to all members of the public.

Public comments will be heard at the beginning of the meeting and are limited to a five-minute floor with the option to expand at the discretion of the board.
