RE: Competitive Bids for Insurance
The Livingston County Library is accepting competitive bids for insurance. The Livingston County Library Board of Trustees reviews insurance coverage and policies every three years. The Library Board is seeking policies regarding to:
- Auto Insurance, hired & non-owned auto liability
- Building – Livingston County Library Main location & Lillian DesMarias Youth Library branch location
- Boiler, Elevator, & Machinery
- Business Personal Property for both facilities
- Electronic Data Processing & Technology for both facilities
- Crime & Fidelity
- Cybersecurity
- Commercial General Liability
- Commercial Umbrella
- Employee Dishonesty
- Directors & Officers Liability
- Workers Compensation
The successful bid will need to provide bond or liability insurance verification, workman’s compensation insurance for hired staff, and require employees to be E-Verified or pass background checks or show proof of the same. Bids must have valid Business License or certifications necessary from the City of Chillicothe and the County of Livingston, Missouri.
The bids will be awarded at the expiration dates of current policies which are set to expire May 16, 2024. Walk through to inspect the library’s building will be made in advance from March 21, 2024 until April 17, 2024 by contacting the Library Director, Sue Lightfoot-Horine at 660-646-0547 by phone or director@livingstoncountylibrary.org by email.
All bids must be returned to the Livingston County Library Director’s office by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, April 17, 2024. Please mark the outside of the envelope, “Sealed Bid for Insurance”. Address the bid as follows:

Bids will be accepted in person by drop off at the Main Library or by postage mail.
Bids will be accepted by email to director@livingstoncountylibrary.org with the email subject header “Sealed Bid for Insurance” by Wednesday, April 17, 2024 by 5:00 pm.
The bids will be opened and read at the Board of Trustees meeting of the Livingston County Library Board on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 4:30 pm. The Board of Trustees reserved the right to accept or reject any or all bids. Only the bidder chosen will be notified on April 19, 2024.
